Last night went well, except for lots of itching that is caused by her pain meds. Today she was taking one pain pill at a time instead of two. She reported that one end of her back incision "was screaming" this morning.
She has had 3 walks today and has gone a little further each time. Lunch was provided by our friend Leona...pasta salad w/ peas, grapes, chicken and cashew nuts. She also sent over cake and blueberry muffins. Our friends Lana and Bill Miller came by after our dinner of fish tacos (fresh crappies from a friend) and they made us ice cream sundaes.
So folks, at this rate, we will not starve! hehe.
Dad and I are keeping up with things around the house. We just finished watering all of the flora around here as it was quite a hot day and we are expecting it to be hotter tomorrow. Mom put in lots of flowers this Spring (as usual) not knowing she would be having this surgery again. So now we must look after them.
It is about 9:15 and she is sitting in a chair behind me...we time each sitting with a timer at 15 minutes each. Ah, the "dinger just dang!" Getting up is not fun...she must use the strength in her arms and legs to get up, and "unlock" the brace as she gets up... it is very hard to do!
We might stop doing daily updates if there is not much news. Stay tuned. Just know she is getting better each day and we are grateful for all of your good vibes!
